Corrections Policy

How we handle factual errors: how to report them, how we respond, and how we display corrections on the record.

Our standard

The Luxury Playbook commits to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently. When we get something wrong, we say so — on the article, dated, and with a clear description of what changed.

How to report an error

If you believe an article on The Luxury Playbook contains a factual error, a misquotation, an outdated figure, or a misrepresentation, please email connect@theluxuryplaybook.com with the following in the subject line: CORRECTION: [article title or URL].

Your email should include:

  • The URL of the article.
  • The specific passage you believe is incorrect (quote it if possible).
  • What you believe the accurate version should say.
  • A link or citation to a primary source supporting your claim, where available.

Our response

We acknowledge every correction submission within five business days, usually faster. Our editorial team reviews the claim against the source we originally used, and against any source you provide.

Based on that review, we take one of four actions:

  1. Confirmed correction. We update the article, add a dated note at the foot describing what was changed, and flag the byline area with a "Last updated" timestamp.
  2. Clarification. We add an explanatory note without changing the original text — used when the article was technically accurate but could mislead a careful reader.
  3. Update. We change a figure, date, or status that has since evolved — with a dated note marking what was refreshed.
  4. No action, with explanation. If we don't find the claim correct, we reply explaining why.

How we display corrections

Corrections appear at the foot of the affected article, in a clearly marked block with the word Correction or Update, followed by the date and a one- or two-sentence description of what was changed and why. We never silently edit an article after publication.

Substantial corrections that change the meaning or conclusion of an article are also noted in the byline area via a Last updated: 18 April 2026 line.

When we decline a correction

We will explain in writing why a requested correction is not being made. Common reasons:

  • The original statement was accurate when published and is supported by our source.
  • The claim is a matter of interpretation or opinion rather than a factual inaccuracy.
  • The cited alternative source is not itself verifiable.

We take this decision in editorial judgement. If you disagree with our response, you may appeal by replying to our decision email — we will escalate within the editorial team.

Plagiarism and source attribution

If you are the original publisher of material you believe has been reproduced on The Luxury Playbook without proper attribution, please email the same address with the subject line ATTRIBUTION: [article title]. We will investigate and, where appropriate, add attribution, replace the passage, or remove it entirely.
